FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of searching biologically active points with the aid of an active electrode and a passive electrode, measuring a value of galvanic skin resistance of the biologically active point after a delay, being no more, than 2 s; determining physiological limits of normal state of the organism and evaluating state of the organism in relation with the limits of the values, had been measured; determining a mean resistance value of a predetermined series of biologically active points after their resistance had been measured, their mean square error, variation factor and deviations of the resistance value from physiological limits, allowing to evaluate total energetic state of the organism and state of its separate total energetic state of the organism and state of its separate organs and systems; determining physiological limits with use of the variation factor, whose value may be no more, than 25%. When symptoms of a disease or distortion of functioning of organs or systems, detected with use of one predetermined set of biologically active points, are well known, it is possible to carry out an additional inspection according to another predetermined set of biologically active points. Apparatus for performing the method has a control unit, a device for memorizing and measuring an information processing unit, an acoustic generator, a sound source and a light indicator. The apparatus provides an accurate coincidence of an active (searching) electrode a biologically active point, being searched, time delay, consisting 0.5-2 s upon measuring characteristics of each point from a time moment of placing the searching electrode till beginning of measurements, necessary accuracy of potential measuring in each point, determination with use of the information processing unit and the device for memorizing and measuring of physiological limits of normal state of the organism and deviations of these limits, according to which the state of the organism is being evaluated.
