FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: desired material has amorphous or slightly crystalline structure, its essential formula is where x= 1.8-2.1, z is charge of cathion M being equal 1 or 2 and M is hydrogen, sodium, potassium and/or magnesium. Quantity of water in said material is 31-60 mass %. Crushing strength is not less 3 MPa, size of spheres of the material is 0.05-2.5 mm. Desired material is prepared by electrochemical synthesis of sol of hydrated zirconium dioxide, followed by dispersing thus obtained sol into aqueous solution of ammonia, washing, treatment with the help of water soluble phosphates and by drying.
