Measurement scale for distance measuring on map

The scale includes a permanently attached length scale (16) and an integrated small computer (30) with function keys. A display (26) is in the form of an elongated window. The computer keys can be used to activate a selected length scale (28) in the window (22).The null point of the scale can be shifted within the window. The scale within the window can be increased or decreased in size continuously and/or in steps. The display can be transparent. Selected scale markings can be hidden or further markings made visible.
