The conveyor belt system consists of a series of belts such as (1) running on drums (2, 3) and supported by rollers (6,8). Between belt sections is a funnel shaped delivery shute (9, 12) through which the transported material flows. Within the shute is a measurement cable wound around the inside wall. The cable contains a number of addressable temperature sensors (17) at a separation (18) of 10 to 20 cm. A reference sensor (19, 20) is positioned externally, such that a temperature rise in any sensor with respect to the reference may be detected by the control system (23). Individual sensors are selected by relay box (21). USE/ADVANTAGE - For lignite conveyor. Reduced detection time.
