The sheet feed system supplies the sheets (16, 17, 18) to the printing machine in overlapping format, using a suction band table (1). A pressurised air stream is supplied in opposition to the transport direction (12) of the overlapping sheet stream, via a jet device (13), with a number of relatively small openings within a microporous structure and adjacent openings of larger dia.
