The bicycle carrier has a coupling device for attachment on a tow-bar (30). The coupling device comprises a mounting section (19) for the ball-shaped end (29) of the tow-bar. The mounting section has a clamp for gripping the ball-shaped end. The clamp comprises two clamp members whose distance from each other is changeable. The ball-shaped end can be clamped between the two members by a tensioning device. The lower clamp member grips the bottom of the ball-shaped end, and the upper clamp member is formed as a cap which has a tensioning screw (31).
