A connection device 10 for supply and disposal systems at workplaces or places for the care and treatment of patients, in which electrical supply systems of a heavy-current type and/or of a low-current type are held in the interior of a duct-like connecting rail 11, in addition to other systems, a plurality of mutually separated retaining ducts 25 for electrical lines 13 being formed in the interior of the connecting rail 11, which retaining ducts can be closed by means of closing devices with respect to the remaining internal space of the connecting rail 11 or can at least be protected against unwanted insertion of electrical lines and against electrical lines falling out. The electrical lines are layered in the individual retaining ducts sorted on the basis of their association with electrical circuits. A profile rail inserted into the connecting rail 10 can preferably be provided with a comb-like cross-sectional shape in order to form retaining ducts. The walls forming the retaining ducts are preferably electrically insulating, to be precise either formed from electrically insulating material or provided with an electrically insulating coating.
