Hot and cold water are supplied to apartments from a central source with separately controlled radiators and a small auxiliary boiler in each. Potable cold water is supplied to the apartments through a rising pipe (1) and water meter (6) in each. Hot water is supplied from a central source through a rising pipe (2), returning through another pipe (7). Another water meter (3) registers usage. Additional heating is provided by a through-flow heater (4) or secondary boiler (10), which may also be fed from the cold water supply, before passing through radiators (5).
