Laser oscillator 20 pumped by the end comprising an amplifier comprising an amplifier medium 32 to the solid state. The pumping beams 44, which are produced by two groups of bars 40 of the laser diodes - to be placed between the optical elements defining the optical resonator, are directed on two opposite end surfaces 34, 36 of the amplifier medium in the solid state, which intersect the optical axis 28 of the optical resonator. The arrays of laser diodes - of each group are distributed circumferentially around the optical axis in a configuration that is uniform and at the same distance along the optical axis on the basis of the amplifying medium. A group of the strip of diodes is arranged on one side of the amplifier medium and the other group is disposed on the other side of the amplifying medium. The energy of the pumping beam is thus directed effectively and efficiently on the two end surfaces of the amplifier medium in the solid state from several rows of diodes - lasers, which makes it possible to the output power produced by the amplifier medium to be increased up to the limits of heat from the amplifier medium.
