PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicine useful for prevention and treatment of disease caused by changes or disturbances of blood viscosity, erythrocyte flexibility and the aggregation of erythrocytes by containing an -lipoic acid. SOLUTION: This medicine contains R,S-(+/-)--lipoic acid, R-(+)--lipoic acid, S-(-)--lipoic acid in reduced or oxidized form or of the metabolites and salts, esters, amides thereof. Preferably, the compound is used in the form of a tablet containing 5 mg-2 g of the compound. or a solution containing (1 mg-200 mg)/liquid ml. Preferably, each dose of the compound is 10 mg-3 g by oral administration and 10 mg-12 g by parenteral administration (intravenous or intramuscular administration).
