PURPOSE: To provide a low-temperature extraction process for Fomes japonicus known as a health food without dissipating the active component of the Fomes japonicus and provide a drink mixed with the extract obtained by the low- temperature extraction of Fomes japonicus. ;CONSTITUTION: This low-temperature extract of Fomes japonicus is prepared by extracting Fomes japonicus R with a cold aqueous solution S maintained at 5-10°C and containing an organic acid such as citric acid, lactic acid or malic acid in combination with sugars and vitamin C. The low-temperature extract of Fomes japonicus is mixed with liquors A such as brandy, white liquor, Japanese rice wine, plum brandy or fruit brandy to obtain a drink D1 or the extract is diluted with water, fruit juice or hot water W to obtain a drink D2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
