PURPOSE:To obtain a polyploid plant having high growth rate and resistant to blight and vermin, etc., by treating a callus of shoot anlage derived from an annual plant with a polyploid inducing agent, subjecting to recovery culture, dividing into shoot anlage and carrying out the proliferation culture of the anlage. CONSTITUTION:A callus of shoot anlage derived from an annual plant is treated with a polyploid inducing agent (preferably 0.01-0.1wt.% solution of colcemid) and subjected to recovery culture. The obtained callus of shoot anlage is divided into individual shoot anlages and subjected to proliferation culture (preferably using 10ml of a liquid medium based on 20-30 shoot anlages) to obtain a clone polyploid of the annual plant.
