PURPOSE: To simplify a structural mechanism, to eliminate water treating equipment and to suppress the generation of dioxin by treating the gas generated from a sewage sludge and industrial waste incinerator successively with a cooler, dust collector and desulfurizing and desalting device respectively at a specified temp. ;CONSTITUTION: The gas generated from a sewage sludge and industrial waste incinerator 11 with the heat recovered to some extent in a heat exchanger 15 is passed through a cooler 12 and rapidly cooled to a constant temp. between 150 and 250°C. Namely, water is atomized by a spray nozzle through a high- pressure pump and sprayed into the gas, and the gas is then passed through a dust collector 13 using a high-temp. filter to remove the dust. The gas is further passed through a desulfurizing and desalting device 14 to remove HC1 and SOx. In this case, a gaseous or powdery neutralizer is introduced into a pipeline connecting the dust collector 13 and the desulfurizing and desalting device 14, and the gas is treated by the dust collector.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
