PURPOSE:To make easy the operations such as leading of a catheter or expanding of a balloon catheter by adding and displaying fluoroscopic images and electrocardiac synchronous subimages so as that the relation between the fluoroscopic image and the position of blood vessels can be always accurately observed in real time. CONSTITUTION:Subimages read out from a frame memory are reversed and processed in an arithmetical unit 3 so as that the background is black and the blood vessels are white. Fluoroscopic images are inputted in real time through an A/D converter 5. White and black reversed subimages and fluoroscopic images are added in an arithmetical unit 5 and displayed on a monitor 7 through a D/A converter 6. The read out subimages are renewed successively and at every time of R-wave detection the subimage 1 is read out, thus electrocardiac synchronous subimages are always added to the fluoroscopic images. On the monitor 7, subimages and blood vessel images are displayed as white and fluoroscopic images and a catheter are displayed as black, both images can be distinguished to observe the coronary stenosis, and the insertion of the catheter can be easily carried out.
