PURPOSE:To reduce the possibility of fire during tempure cooking, by mounting a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of tempura oil directly to a hood main body by way of an electric cord and installing an alarming means which gives forth signal sounds to inform proper temperature and utter different signal sounds when an abnormal temperature is attained. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple or a thermistor is used as a temperature sensor 2 for example. An electric cord 3 is fixed to the edge of a tempura pan 5 with a clip so as to keep the temperature sensor 2 dipped in a tempura oil (a). An alarming means 8 is provided with two kinds of signal sounds, i.e., a proper temperature signal uttered when a detected temperature of the tempura oil is proper for tempura cooking, and an abnormal temperature signal sound uttered when the detected temperature exceeds the proper temperature and approaches spontaneous firing temperature. These two signal sounds are different from each other. Furthermore, the temperature sensor 2 is provided with a controlling means which gives forth signal sounds and stops or reduce the heating power of a cooking device B of a gas range or an electric range which heats tempura oil in connection with the operation of the temperature sensor 2 when the tempura oil is heated to the preset abnormal temperature.
