The invention relates to a doctor blade consisting of a strip, preferably a steel strip, with its lower side armoured with a wear-resistant material. In order to secure the armour firmly to the basic component it is proposed that the armour (11) be secured by means of rivets (13), where the armour (11) and/or the rivets (13) consist of a hard metal, a cermet or an Al2O3-based ceramic.
