A METHOD FOR EXTRACTING THERMAL ENERGY FOR USE IN A HEAT DISTRIBUTION PLANT, FOR EXAMPLE A DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM, FROM A GENERATOR PLANT THAT HAS A GENERATOR, WHICH IS AIR-COOLED BY A COOLING FAN AND DRIVEN BY BY MEANS OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, ACCORDING TO WHICH METHOD THE THERMAL ENERGY OF THE COOLING SYSTEM AND THE EXHAUST GAS ARE TRANSFERRED TO THE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM, AND IN WHICH THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IS ENCLOSED IN A VENTILATED CABIN THAT ABSORBS SOUND. WITH A VIEW TO WHICH IT IS VALID TO EXPLOIT THE HEAT TRANSFERRED TO THE VENTILATION AIR THROUGH DIRECT EXCHANGE OF HEAT WITH THE WATER OF THE DISTRICT HEATING SYSTEM, THE GENERATOR IS SUPPLIED BY AIR COOLING FROM THE EXTERNAL COOLING FAN AND THE OUTLETS COOLED THEY ARE SUPPLIED TO THE CABIN, WHERE IT CONSTITUTES THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF VENTILATION AIR OR AN ESSENTIAL PART OF IT.
