Masonrywork comprising porous vertically perforated bricks and mortar which is arranged in the horizontal joints between the blocks, the blocks in the masonrywork being arranged with vertical unit dimensioning which is 125 mm or a multiple thereof and is distinguished in that the height of the blocks is in the range of 242 to 248 mm for large formats and of 116 to 124 mm for small formats, in that the grain size of the largest grain in the particle-size distribution curve is in the range of 1.5 to 3 mm, and in that the mortar, for improving the bending strength, contains a fibrous additive in the freshly mixed state.
