The present invention relates to a wet blade unit having at least one vertically displaceable blade responsive to a force generated during shaving. The blade unit also includes a side-mounted vertical return spring extending continuously from and to both ends of the blade unit to support the blade. The return spring engages a force generated during shaving to allow vertical displacement of the blade and returns the blade to its original position when this force is lost.
