The metabolic anti-diabetic agent contains a ginseng ginsenoside Rb1. The ginsenoside Rb1 is obtained by dipping 500g of a ginseng powder into 1 liter methanol at 70deg. C for 3hr, and separating the mixture to obtain a supernatant, pressure reduction concentrating the supernatant, dissolving it into 50ml distilled water, extracting it with 5ml diethyl ether and unsatd. butanol soln., concentrating the unsatd. butanol layer, dissolving the concentrated extract with a methanol, and separating and purifying it.
