The present invention relates to a method for preparing an integration of Bacillus thuringiensis that produces large amounts of delta-endotoxin crystals with greater pesticidal activity compared to delta-endotoxin crystals produced by corresponding parent strains. The delta-endotoxin crystals produced by the integrated Bacillus thuringiensis have the indicated activity against the same pests as the delta-endotoxin crystals of its parent strain Bacillus thuringiensis. The present invention also relates to such integrated bodies, compositions comprising such integrated bodies, and methods of controlling pests using such compositions.
