METHOD OF APPLICATION OF HEMOSTATIC FORCEPS AND APPLIANCE FOR ITS APPLICATION

FIELD: medicine; can be used in surgical operations. SUBSTANCE: fixation of forceps is accomplished simultaneously with joining of the forceps working surfaces by pressing-out of the stiffening rib onto them perpendicularly to the line of their bending by the appliance used for application of forceps. To this end, in the appliance for application of hemostatic forceps, having hinge-joined branches 3,4 with gripping jaws 5,6, lower gripping jaw 5 has longitudinal groove 7 passing on its middle and a recess for hemostatic forceps. This recess is confined by two side shoulders, two front shoulders and a rear shoulder. The inner faces of the side shoulders are inclined to the recess bottom at an acute angle. The distance between the front shoulders is shorter than the recess width by the depth of longitudinal groove 7. Upper gripping jaw of the appliance has longitudinal boss 8 corresponding to longitudinal groove 7 on the lower gripping jaw. The hemostatic forceps is put on lower gripping jaw 5 of the appliance. The appliance is bed up to the vessel (or part of the hollow organ) in such a way that the vessel finds itself between the forceps working surfaces. At a connection of branches 3,4 gripping jaws 5,6 together with the working surfaces get joined, and boss 8 presses out the stiffening rib from them. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of squeezing and fixation of hemostatic forceps on vessels.
