The appts. is adapted to be worn on a pair of spectacles to enable the wearer to actuate switches without moving an actuator member. The switches can be connected to the spectacles and can also be detached, but do not form a component of a body part. The appts. contains a functional element with a contract pair and which provides an acoustic signal. The contact pair triggers the switching process merely by muscle pressure, and are actuated by a rocker which is actuated when the wearer blinks voluntarily. A magnifying lens may be arranged in the near view field of the eye. A display device may be arranged behind this to display the result of the switch adjustment. The display device may include analysis circuitry and a power supply.
