Method and device for converting plant-based solar energy and biological material

Conversion of plant-bound solar energy comprises: (a) fermenting and distilling biomass to produce alcohol and by-products; (b) carbonising wood and simultaneously distilling tar to produce 'jet wash tar' (Strahlwaschteer) and by-products; (c) producing vegetable oil from oil seeds; (d) combining the alcohol from (a), the 'jet wash tar' from (b) and the vegetable oil from (c) to produce fuel; (e) using the by-products from (a) and (b) to generate heat and electrical power; and (f) supplying most of the electrical power to steps (a)-(d) through a network.
