Algorithm for modelling status changes e.g. in electrical power transmission networks

The method for determining critical status changes in Process parameters, especially for parameters in electrical power distribution networks, where the parameters are determined by sampling and digitising involves the use of replacement parameters of a simplified equivalent circuit. For the replacement parameters impulse function changes are used, approximately several rows of piecewise constant functions, so that a step change occurring at a point, assuming multiple step changes for the respective rows with selected parameter sets, where the rows are selected to achieve the best approximation based on the minimum sum of the squared deviations.
