A roof venting pipe (1) has a grid structure (G) at its outlet side at least partially formed by circular rungs. A covering cap (2) mounted thereon form-fittingly engages with a central projection (4) the inside of one of the circular rungs (5). Supporting fingers project from the lower side of the covering cap and are supported outwards on the top side of the roof venting pipe (1). In order to obtain a more simple design that allows an improved flow, the supporting fingers (7) are designed as longitudinal ribs on the outer surface (8) of the central projection (4) and are supported on the circular rungs (5) crossed by the projection (4).
