A circuit breaker is equipped with an electromagnetic actuator (ea) comprising a magnetic circuit (7) in the form of h, which is provided with a first gap (17) in which there extends a contact arm (5), and a second gap (19) associated with a plate (8) to pivot. A striker pin (9) is connected to the plate (8) in order to reinforce the opening movement of the contact arm (5) in the invention, the firing pin (9) is formed by an elongate part situated between the magnetic circuit (7) and the first compartment, and cooperating with the support means (26) of the contact arm (5) in order to close the passage between the first and second compartments after attraction of the plate (8), and to release said passage, after the return of the plate (8) to the separated position.
