Energetic binder and thermoplastic elastomer-based low vulnerability ammunition gun propellants with improved mechanical properties

An energetic binder system useful for making TPE-LOVA propellants and energetic composites comprises at least one thermoplastic elastomer, at least one plasticizer, and nitrocellulose. The plasticizer may be energetic. The thermoplastic may be a non-cross linked polymor having pairs of crystalline polyester blocks flanking amorphous polyester blocks or may be a polyether derived from oxetane or tetrahydrofuran monomers.
