JOINT CONSTRUCTION OF UP AND DOWN COLUMNS WITH BEAM AND JOINT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify working in a plant as well as field execution when up and down columns are connected to a beam. ;SOLUTION: A joint box 3 is welded to the upper end of a lower side steel pipe column 1B. The joint box 3 is equipped with diaphragms 5A and 5B in up and down surfaces thereof, an insertion hole 6 of an upper side steel pipe column 1A is provided to the upper diaphragm 5A, and beam connecting bolt insertion holes 7 are provided to the sides of the joint box. The end of the beam 2 is connected to the sides of the joint box 3 with bolts, and the lower end of the upper side steel pipe column 1A is inserted into the insertion hole 6 on the upper surface of the joint box 3. Grouting holes 8 are provided to the sides of the lower end of the upper side steel pipe column 1A, and the joint box 3 and the inside of the lower end of the upper side steel pipe column 1A are filled with concrete or gruout such as mortar, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
