PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of data, and miniaturize and simplify an apparatus, by projecting and receiving ultraviolet rays to a moving body provided with identification information comprising an absorption face and a reflection face to ultraviolet rays and obtaining the identification information. SOLUTION: A coating film selectively reflecting ultraviolet rays is formed on a face of a sheet-like identification body 22 of a moving body-recognizing apparatus 20. Characters or figures as an identification symbol are drawn on the coating film by a paint absorbing ultraviolet rays. When an ultraviolet light projected from a projector 21 or beams including the ultraviolet light illuminate the identification body 22, the characters or figures on the face absorb the ultraviolet rays and a background face selectively reflects the ultraviolet rays. A reflecting plate 23 selectively reflects the light of a specific ultraviolet zone, and passes the other light. A photodetector 24 eventually selectively detects only the ultraviolet light reflected at the identification body 22, whereby an image of the light alone is to be processed by an image-processing device. The amount of data required by the identification body 22 to recognize a moving body is reduced large, and the apparatus is made compact and simplified.
