PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily bore a sound through hole by carrying out the perforation by means of heating based on a high thermal energy density heating method in the part, to be bored into the through hole in the web part or in the vicinity of this part. ;SOLUTION: In a deformed steel wire member 2 with a groove for a two-piece type oil ring and the like, perforation of a plurality of through oil holes (d) in series in a web part (b) is required after the wire member 2 is molded so as to be provided with an H-shaped or X-shaped deformed cross section. For boring the sound through holes (d), the inside faces or the vicinity of the through holes (d) are heated again by means of a high thermal energy density heating method. As a heat source of the high thermal energy density heating, a YAG laser is used, and the heat source is intermittently operated while the deformed wire member 2, in which a web part (b) thickness is 0.5mm, with a groove for a two-piece type oil ring is continuously fed at a constant speed, so that the holes, each of which is provided with a width of 0.3mm and a length of 3.0mm, are fused at the same time over the whole hole width in the web part, (b). In this way, difficulty against reduction in a cross section size can be eliminated, and improvement in performance of a small size internal combustion engine can be expected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
