PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorinated fullerene polymer having excellent mechanical strength, charging no static electricity thereon, and having lubricity, by carrying out a polymerization in a gas plasma (esp. fluorine-based gas plasma) in producing the polymer. SOLUTION: This fluorinated fullerene polymer, fluorinated fullerene polymer film or fluorinated fullerene polymer-contg. medium is obtained through the following two processes: at least one kind of spherical carbon expressed by the formula Cn ((n) is such an integer as to be capable of geometrically forming a spherical compound) is sublimated; and a fluorinated fullerene polymer having the molecular formula (Cn Fm )x ((n) is the same as that mentioned above; (m) is an integer of =(n); (x) is an integer); in other words, through the following process: (1) the spherical. carbon(s) is sublimated and then polymerized in a fluorine-contg. gas plasma; or (2) the spherical carbon(s) is sublimated, then polymerized in a fluorine-free gas plasma, and then treated in a fluorine-contg. gas plasma.
