PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an economical control method capable of inhibiting walking vibration of floor and beam effectively and facilitating the installation of a device and a tie post. ;SOLUTION: This tie post 1 with a viscoelastic damper, which is designed to connect a floor slab on both upper and lower stories, is set up in a span of a floor slab of a building. The tie post 1 with the viscoelastic damper provides a viscoelastic damper 3 on the end of a tie post main body 2 which constitute an auxiliary support post. The viscoelastic damper 3 is constructed by filling up a viscoelastic body in a clearance produced between an outer pipe and an inner piper when the inner pipe is inserted into the outer pipe whose diameter is different. The viscoelastic body of the viscoelastic damper 3 integrated with the tie post main body 2 absorbs effectively even a fine vibration, such as walking vibration traveling from the floor slab.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
