PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a distance up to a convex mirror without reducing the size of an individual object reflected on the convex mirror, recognize a wider rear region of an automobile, and expand a visual field. ;SOLUTION: A device 30 which expands a rear visual field of a rear window glass 34 of an automobile is provided with a Fresnel prism 36 arranged on an inner side of a car room of the rear window glass 34 and a convex mirror 38 arranged in a more rear section than the Fresnel prism 36. The Fresnel prism 36 and the convex mirror 38 are positioned in such a manner that lines of sight of a driver (E₁, E₂) are reflected by the convex mirror 38 after they pass the Fresnel prism 36 and reach a rear part of the automobile.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
