PURPOSE: To obtain an inhibitor composed of a condensed material between hydrazine and a quinone, a water-soluble polymer, etc., capable of effectively preventing adhesion of scale by addition into a polymerizer for polymerizing an ethylenic double bond-containing monomer, and as a result, capable of giving a product free from fish eye or initial color. ;CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains a condensation product between hydrazine and a quinone compound, a water-soluble polymer compound, colloidal silica and an alkaline metal silicate. A coating film containing this inhibitor is formed in a polymerizer for polymerizing an ethylenic double bound-containing monomer. Lawson, juglone, plumbagin, etc., is used as the quinone compound and the amount of the quinone compound used is 0.05 to 20 pts.wt. based on 1 pts.wt. hydrazine.
