PURPOSE: To obtain an accelerating tube of a small size and a low cost which can increase the rotating symmetry of the accelerating electromagnetic field in an accelerating cavity, and can prevent the increase of emittance. ;CONSTITUTION: Two combining holes 2a and 2b are provided at the rotating symmetrical positions to the center axis of the input end combining unit 90a of an accelerating tube which accelerates the charged particle beams by a high-frequency wave power input from the external side, the high-frequency wave power 7 is input from one side end, a single waveguide 1 furnishing a conductor or a dielectric for nonreflection terminal is provided to the other side end bending around the input end combining unit 90a, and the waveguide 1 and the input end combining unit 90a are communicated through the combining holes 2a and 2b. Consequently, the high-frequency wave power in the waveguide 1 is input to the inside of the accelerating tube through the two combining holes 2a and 2b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
