PURPOSE: To provide a time division multiplexer which can instantaneously obtain path information during operation in any repeater stations in the middle of a path which does not have a monitor device for network constitution. ;CONSTITUTION: Respective transmission line interfaces 300 and 400, respective terminal interfaces 100 and 200, a time switch(TSW) 500 and a control part 600' are provided in the same way as a conventional device. The control part 600' is provided with a communication means 70 communicating with the control part of the other device, and a TS assignment information storage part 80 storing ID numbers added to respective paths as TS assignment information describing to which of time slots of the respective transmission lines 30 and 40 a specified time slot(TS) is to be assigned. Furthermore, a route information table 60 storing route information consisting of the combination of respective opposite party station numbers included within a route arriving at a terminating station for the respective ID numbers and the ID number at the opposite party station, and a route information update means updating route information are provided.
