PURPOSE: To accurately measure the thyroxine taking-in ratio of a blood serum sample by causing a reaction among the sample, thyroxine immobilized to a carrier, and a labeled antibody against thyroxine-bound globulin. CONSTITUTION: A solution containing a blood serum sample and an acridinium ester-labeled anti-human TBG antibody (TBG: thyroxine-bound globulin) is added to a suspension of magnetic particles to which thyroxine is immobilized and a reaction is caused among the sample, the thyroxine immobilized to the magnetic particles, and the antibody. After the magnetic particles are magnetically separated and washed, a hydrogen peroxide solution is added and the quantity of light emitted from the magnetic particles is measured. Then the thyroxine taking-in ratio of the sample is found from a formula, thyroxine taking-in amount = (relative light quantity of objective serum)/(relative light quantity of sample serum).
