Manufacture of a compost base from agricultural by- products

This invention describes the use of cellulose fibres as a neutral base for compost. The method describes the processing of agricultural by-products such as cereal straw so as to obtain a fibrous mass suitable for retaining moisture and fertilizers which are necessary for compost while at the same time ensuring adequate ventilation for the roots of the plants.
