The present invention relates to purified tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising them. The tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives are useful for DNA protection from damaging by DNA-binding drugs, chemical carcinogens and mutagens and from irradiation.
