DOCUMENT SEARCH AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM WITH PARTIAL MATCH SEARCHING OF USER-DRAWN ANNOTATIONS

摘要

The document browser for electronic filing systems supportspen-based markup and annotation. The user may electronically write notes anywhereon a page and then later search for those notes using the approximate inkmatching (AIM) technique. The technique segments the user-drawn strokes,extracts and vector quantizes features contained in those strokes. An editdistance comparison technique is used to query the database, rendering thesystem capable of performing approximate or partial matches to achieve fuzzysearch capability.
