Each required position of the ram piston rod can be precisely attained by a thread-like connection of the inner base (2) of the piston rod to an expansion sleeve and rotation of the latter by a slidable drive. In the attained position the piston rod is held mechanically with position fixing such that forces in the piston rod axial sense can be taken up. In the ram rest position the piston rod can be positively fixed and positioned by turning the piston and a compression spine in a servo-cylinder without the action of a working medium.
