The minimum reserve safeguarding procedure involves the delivery of products from a central storage location to various remote locations. A measuring signal relating to the product stock is automatically generated at each remote location and is transmitted by data transfer to a central computer. Additional information, e.g. weather-dependent data, etc., can also be transmitted to the central computer. The central computer can also request information about product stocks from each remote location over the data transfer link at specified time intervals. From this, the computer analyses the current delivery requirement, and optimises the route of the delivery vehicle from the central store to the remote locations as required.
