The device comprises at least one probe fixture and a connected optical probe with transmitter and receiver optics. The probe comprises a transmitting radiation path and a reception radiation path, whereby the probe fixture is introduced into the turbine casing interior and the probe is arranged in the area of the shovel tips. The measuring light incident over the transmitting path on the shovel tips is reflected and collected by the reception path. An optic illumination fibre and an optic reception fibre are provided. The probe (2) comprises one single optic axis (12), to which the transmitter optics (3) are arranged coaxially, and to which the transmitting radiation path (5) runs concentrically. The receiver optics (4) comprise a larger diameter and surround the transmitter optics concentrically w.r.t. to the direction of the optic axis. The reception radiation path (6) proceeds concentrically to the transmitting radiation path.
