Design template for use in biological growth studies - relates to mollusc types for their systematisation and interpretation suitable for design teaching or computer games

The template is used to examine and elucidate the complex biological growth process and applies in particular to a variety of molluscs. It is composed basically of equilateral triangles and molluscs, e.g. snails shells or armadillo armour can be used to represent their progressive growth phases in terms of crystal lattice structure. When used for e.g. nautilus study as a micro-organism, a three-dimensional shape arises from the respective evolvents (A,B) in a spiral which can be rotated round centre (0) to give a number of regular inter-relationships. These can be utilised when it comes to e.g. turbine design.
