The light utilisation method uses at least one mechanical device fitted directly to the tubular fluorescent light tube, in the form of a metal, plastics or natural material clamp sleeve, which is freely rotatable about a given axis. The clamp sleeve is used to control the transmission, absorption, reflection, focussing, dispersion, filtering, or polarisation of the emitted light and is pref. provided by an elastic cylinder (1) with an elongate slot (2) along its full length, provided with a reflective coating (3) on its inside.
