Multi-coat lacquering process giving good adhesion to baked primer coat deposited autophoretically

Production of multi-coat lacquering on a substrate with a metallic surface suitable for autophoretic coating involves autophoretic deposition of a primer coat and baking. The novelty is that the baked primer coat is subjected to physical and/or chemical treatment and/or coated with adhesion promoter before spraying with lacquer coat(s).
