The device consists of a clip which opens and closes, whereby in the closed state it forms a clamp between two tongues which enables it to be attached to the clothing. A wallet attached to the clip can hold cheque cards and similar objects. The material properties are subordinate to the functionality. The clip can be designed so that two contacts (7a,7b) are supplied by an integral battery (5) when the clip is closed. The closed clip makes a circuit contg. an acoustic signal generator (6) which emits an audible signal when the clip is closed. The circuit is open when the clip is open or attached, e.g. to the clothing.
