Communications bus for avionic and space applications

The communications bus includes a twisted wire pair (2) which extends along the length of the bus and is enclosed by upper and lower container sections. An EM coupler is connected to the bus and a controlled unit. The coupler is shielded externally by a shielding sheath. The existing shielding sheath is stripped off for the length of the controlled unit, and passes over the unit inlet and outlet ports (8,9). The sheath is electromagnetically sealed by a clamp (12,13) for good screening within the container sections. Several couplers can be placed within the distribution network at distances from each other. Screening is ensured along the whole length of the bus.
