The waste treatment installation has a crockery treatment station (1) and a water processing waste treatment station (4). The waste processing station comprises a grinder (9) and a system (14) for separating liquid and solid phases. The process comprises the following stages. The crockery is separated from the waste and then moved to the crockery treatment station. Simultaneously the waste is moved to the waste treatment station where it is ground in the grinder which is continuously supplied with water. The wet ground waste is then transferred into the separating system from which it is evacuated. The waste and crockery treatment stations are connected by a pipe (5) in order to recover a part of the waste water from the crockery treatment station and use it in the waste treatment station.
